Our Mission

The availability and quality of drinking water remains a grave concern in many areas hosting displaced Syrians. Contaminated drinking water has the potential to cause a host of devastating water-borne illnesses, including diarrhea, cholera, jaundice, and more. Without clean water and proper water filtration facilities, the provision of clean water to those displaced is critical.

Sahha Wa Salaam is an organization dedicated to addressing this neglected need.

To mitigate water-related problems and to provide clean water, Sahha Wa Salaam raises the funds to purchase and coordinates the delivery of water purification devices in the form of LifeStraw® products to refugee camps and areas in need.

LifeStraw® produces high performance water filters that purify water and remove viruses, bacteria, parasites, and microplastics. With a demonstrated history of leadership in the global movement to provide clean water to vulnerable populations, LifeStraw® has developed a platform to create innovative and sustainable products to address the provision of clean water to disadvantaged people. Learn more about LifeStraw® here.

The three main LifeStraw® products we aim to deliver to displaced Syrians include the LifeStraw, the LifeStraw Family, and the LifeStraw Community. Each product is durable, long-lasting, high-capacity, and uniquely suited to provide individuals, families, and entire communities with access to clean water.

A simple donation of just $20 can provide clean drinking water to an individual in need for over 5 years.
